Our AquaLyse® water ionisation systems have electrodes composed of pure copper or a variation of copper and silver electrode alloys which are used in specific water treatment environments. The electrode alloy concentration vary based on the quality of the water, the overall engineering structure and location where our ionisation system will be installed.

Our AquaLyse® pure copper and copper silver ionisation systems are legally sold around the world when specifically dealing with water treatment protocols for the prevention and control of microorganisms like: E. Coli, Pseumodas Legionella, Staph (Staphylococcus), Listeria, Salmonella and many more infectious bacteria.

Copper ions (ionic copper) is the perfect algeacide and fungicide for a variety of water systems like cooling towers, swimming pools, spas and agricultural applications.

Copper ionisation and copper silver ionisation are safe methods of water treatment and have a dual role in our AquaLyse® ionisation water systems. The first is that the biocide results of ionisation are much better for silver when copper is present. Secondly, copper alone is the perfect algaecide and will keep your equipment algae free.

The aesthetic objective for copper in drinking water is 1.0 mg/L; this was set to ensure palatability and to minimize staining of laundry and plumbing fixtures. Copper is an essential element in human metabolism, and it is well-documented that deficiency results in a variety of clinical disorders, including nutritional anaemia in infants. Although the intake of large doses of copper has resulted in adverse health effects, the levels at which this occurs are much higher than the aesthetic objective.

Copper has been known, mined, and used by humans for more than 5000 years. It is probably second only to iron in its usefulness to humans. Copper pipe is used extensively in plumbing, especially for domestic water systems. Copper is used extensively in pesticide formulations as a fungicide and antimicrobial agent, particularly for the treatment of wood and water supplies for drinking water and recreational use.
